Last Thursday I was in Asbury Park - New Jersey for a jewelry making workshop. I created a specific set of necklace and earrings for this group. I made 3 different designs. The original idea was to have them making a treasure-like bracelet but after showing the piece to my hostess she thought that a necklace/earrings set would be more wearable. I designed something really pretty, a little be asymmetrical on 3 layers. I kept it very flexible because it needs to be priced right. The second did not work because the price range would be away higher than people were willing to spend. I end up editing the original design and the one seeing here is the final version.
This workshop was sponsored by CRYSTALLIZED™ and Beadalon®.
W said that I need to be more concise introducing the brands cause I spent around 25 minutes with it what I agreed.

The workshop was OK. My timing was totally off.
The design itself wasn't complicated and only required basic wire-looping technique but only one lady had done jewelry before. What is basic for me might be a challenge for beginners. The workshop was supposed to be taught in 2:15 min and it took me 3:30min. Do you remember those daddies babysitting? Imagine you telling your partner that you are engaged on a workshop and it will require 2 hours of his night time and then you showed up home 4 hours later?!?

The kits had half of 22 loops made already within but it wasn't enough to speed up the process. I had to finish some of the pieces because I wanted them to leave the class wearing it. Not mentioning that all the earrings were assembled by W and I.

On a scale from 0 to 10 I rate my workshop 7.
Thank, God everybody was easy going and joke about the situation.
I ask my hostess to set up only coffee and water but she decides to cater the workshop setting up a huge table with delicious finger food...score 10 for her.
Thanks, darling!

The lesson is the project needs to be simpler but if the project is too simple the jewelry doesn't look that fabulous...to be or not to be!

At least through the pictures above, they all seem to be happy!

The workshop was great. I had a fun night and was so proud to walk away with such a beautiful piece. Was very impressed with your and W's professionalism and expertise. Agree with W's comments regarding introducing the brands. Your designs in the Beadalon catalog are beautiful. Julie (Melanie's friend)
